Release 23.4
New Features:
Organizations as Members
"Well known attributes" provide more flexible attribute tools for administrators and users.
Starting with organizations as members, well-known attributes allow large groups of users to be defined using single attributes.Room owners will have available attributes to add to the membership of a group, allowing them to add all members of an organization with minimal upfront requirements and continual maintenance of membership based on user's attribute definitions.
Users joining or leaving the organization will gain, or loose, the organization attribute which will, in turn, define their membership of groups provisioned with the organization as a member."Organizations as Members" provides an easy way to ensure that all users from an organization have rights to access rooms provisioned with the organization attribute as a member.
- Currently, well known attributes are defined with a debug key.
mce.attributsynchronization.user.public.attributes- with the value following a json format :
[{ "issuer": " attribute issuer ", "name": " attribute name ", "value": " attribute value "}]
Future releases will expand the well-known attribute functionality, including PowerShell attribute definitions and additional group administration capabilities.
Authentication Options in Settings
The authentication page offers users several authentication options, including setting their presence, enabled chat modalities and their target translation language.
23.4 adds the ability for users to set these Authentication preferences in their settings menu. It provides access to authentication settings while authenticated, found in a new section of the settings page.
Changes to authentication settings will apply the next time the user logs in.
Group environment variables in dock (tooltip)
In a multi-environment deployment, tooltips have been added to groups to display their environment name. This ensures users in a multi-environment deployment can easily differentiate between groups, especially when operating in a UCMA and MCE hybrid environment.
- Deployments with groups in multiple UCMA pChat pools will display the pChat pool name the group is in.
- Deployments with MCE and UCMA groups will display the MCE Cluster ID and UCMA pChat pool(s) respectively.
Standalone MCE deployment supporting windows authentication
MCE Standalone environments now support additional authentication mechanisms, extending HTTP Header Authentication support to include Windows and Password mechanisms, too.
Administrators now have more flexibility to deploy MCE Standalone with their preferred authentication mechanisms.
History Search across Multiple Groups
Searching groups history supports searching across multiple groups.
Users must be within a group to initiate the group search, but will be able to get results across all groups they are members of.
